Position Summary: Roles and Responsibilities: Converts work requests from Production to Work Orders Maintains back Log of Work Orders Maintains Mini Files (Equipment History) Uses feedback from Preventive and Predictive Maintenance to create Work Orders for Corrective Maintenance Receive, review and screen all work order requests to ensure their work scope is clearly described.
Examine unplanned work orders and determine the best way to accomplish the work.
Consult with the Maintenance Manager for approval.
Obtain blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, to clarify the intent of work orders Receives Crew Availability from Lead on a Weekly Basis and uses this to determine the Back Logged work to assign the next week, and assigns Plans Work Order for Maintenance Crews, to include pre-staging of parts Maintains PM, PdM, CM and WO document storage Performing administrative duties in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Work order tracking Developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the preventive maintenance program Identify and obtain necessary materials required to complete work orders.
Partners with purchasing clerk to ensure the timely delivery of parts and equipment Managing the site's spare parts inventory, including weekly monitoring of inventory Ensure safety needs are given a top priority in work planning.
Identify the sequence of steps required to fulfill each work order, the number of mechanics and required labor hours for each step.
List special tools and/or equipment needed Assign delay codes to backlogged work orders awaiting scheduling and unplanned work orders, as necessary Avoid waste and misuse of product, materials and labor.
Required and Preferred Qualifications: Ability to diagnose situations and make good judgements in a timely manner Work variety of hours as needed to complete assignments (shutdowns, evening shifts, weekends) Associate’s Degree required in a technical field and 1-3 years of maintenance scheduling / planning experience and/or 5-10 years as a machine repair technician, or equivalent combination of both.
Experience in an industrial environment preferred Electrical/ Mechanical aptitude preferred Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (MPulse preferred) Through understanding of Maintenance Systems; Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Mechanical Aptitude with expert knowledge of all production equipment Team Player with excellent communication skills Must be extremely organized; detail orientated Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and LSS a plus.
Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment while wearing all required PPE (including; eye, hearing, hand, knee, foot, etc.
).
Possess a positive work attitude, willingness to learn all departmental job functions, and adhere to safety and quality requirements.
Work Environment and Physical requirements: Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs, traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis, sitting, squatting and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the work day.
Exposed to noise, dust, fumes and odors on a daily basis.
Physical exertion is required.
Requires standing, bending and twisting for a 10-hour shift.
May be required to work in a non-air conditioned area.
Vision protection and steel-toed shoes are required.
Hearing protection may be required.
